As some of you may be aware, I used to write a bit of middle grade (works for ages 8-12.) In a Pickle is available on Amazon for $2.99 (or $7.99 if you want a spiffy paperback), but I also have some work up for free on the internet.
Just Super is a middle grade novella available now for your reading pleasure on Wattpad. Last I looked, it was #2 in kidlit (out of 127 works) and #14 in middle grade (out of 1,210.) The genre is speculative with science fiction vibes (think superhero.)
Boy + SAD + some funky lightning = one fried school bus and one super-strong middle schooler. Tristan’s got the power, but he’s also got a worthy adversary: a teacher whose sense of right and wrong got confused in the lightning fiasco. If he doesn’t stop her, she’ll continue blackmailing him into doing awful things (besides singing in the kids’ theater musical.) If he does try to stop her…well, who doesn’t like being experimented on by mad scientists?
Just Super is more toward the older side of the MG space, so I would recommend for 10-12.
