Picture of a Corona typewriter
As you may have seen on Twitter, I got my grandpa’s typewriter for Christmas. Grandpa Overmyer would write letters to friends and family on it every Sunday and Wednesday evening. And every Christmas, he made certain to write a letter to Grandma. ❤
The machine is manual, portable (? it comes in a case with a handle), and from the small amount of research I did, it looks like it was made in the late 1930s. I’m not selling. This is something so special, and I’ve wanted one for quite a while. My aunt gave it to me because I’m a writer. Wasn’t that thoughtful?
In other fun news, I was on a Twitter acquaintance’s podcast the other week. Here’s a link in case you missed it; CLICKETY CLICK. I had a great time with Shannon.
I hope everyone’s 2022 is going well so far. What are you up to? I’m trying to get back into the swing of things after taking a long Christmas break.
Keep your nose in a book,
Beth
I started out on a Smith-Corona manual — writing my first “novels” at the age of six. 😉
