Baking Magic With Beth: Magical Chocolate Pudding Cake

Can’t decide if you want chocolate cake or chocolate pudding? What a dilemma! Both are so yummy. What if you didn’t have to decide? What if there was a…MAGICAL solution?

CHOCOLATE PUDDING CAKE RECIPE

3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 and 1/2 cups water

Sift the first five (dry) ingredients into a 9×9 inch square pan.

Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla. Combine the remaining dry ingredients (sugars and cocoa) and sprinkle over the the batter. Pour the water over the mixture–DO NOT STIR! This is where the magic comes in. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.

Cake on the top, pudding on the bottom–win/win! This would be a lovely recipe for a small gathering this Easter season.
