Two weeks ago from tomorrow, I participated in the Ritter Public Library’s third annual local author fair. Sadly, I have no photographic evidence of this, as neither my mom (who was my assistant) nor my sister (who came for the last hour) nor I thought to capture the day. Oh, well.
It was a nice turn-out. I was stationed away from everyone else near one of the entrances and an elevator, so I got to see a fair amount of people. If I do the fair again, I’m going to send out postcard invitations to family and friends like I did last year. Now THAT was a fantastic showing!
All in all, it was a nice day. I got to chat to people and sort of became the greeting committee, explaining how the treasure hunt for stickers worked and pointing people in the right direction. Sold a handful of books, too, which is always a good thing.
In other news, I’m working on the second draft of FIH, the next novel I plan to turn in later this year to Flame Tree Press, depending on how things go with the last novel I submitted there. I’m also working on a few side projects: a novelette, a novella, a short story, and a stage play. The stage play is based on my book In a Pickle, which you can buy here.
And, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out my author newsletters. This month, in my adult fiction newsletter, I’m giving away a pair of Sting (think Lord of the Rings) earrings to one lucky winner. The parents/aunts newsletter sends soon, and there will be a Lord of the Rings giveaway in that as well.

Have you ever been to an author fair? What about the experience did you like most? Or least?
