Wishing You All A Very Merry Christmas and Solstice

From all of us at bethovermyer.com — ahem, which means me and me alone — I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy Winter Solstice.

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? For me, it has to be the newish-to-me Jolabokaflod, an Icelandic tradition that translated into “Christmas Book Flood.” On Christmas Eve, we gift books to our friends and loved ones. Then we’ll read until the wee hours, some of us eating or sipping chocolate. It’s a lovely tradition and I highly recommend you try it. I’ve been participating now for eight years.

This years books I’m gifting include (STOP READING NOW, FAMILY MEMBERS!!):

  • Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
  • The Ketchup Lover’s Cookbook by Heather Thomas
  • The Little Women Cookbook by Winnie Moranville
  • How I Broke up With My Colon by Nick Seluk

Have a wonderful celebration, stay safe, and drink some eggnog for me,
Beth

P.S. In the giving mood but don’t want to spend a dime? Leave an author a review! Here’s how.
