The saying goes that a picture is worth a thousand words. I would like to share some of my favorite art, but don’t expect 1,000 words on each!
The painting is full of romance and whimsy (two of my favorite things!) He’s looking at her as they run from the onslaught of rain, but she’s got her eyes on the surroundings. Bashful? Modest (albeit not dressed so)? It’s all up to the viewer’s interpretation! This work of art is the wallpaper on my laptop 🙂
Doesn’t she look Annoyed with a capital A? “I was READING. Why are you still TALKING? Why are you even HERE? Bother.”
This painting inspired a poem. Read it here.
This painting is inspired by the Shakespeare play The Tempest. How beautiful and exciting–even though my photo copy doesn’t quite capture the vibrancy of the colors.
And last but not least…
Same painter! (Sorry for the blurry image; it was the best I could take of my copy.) Anyone who’s watched the PBS Anne of Green Gable miniseries must remember the scene where Anne recites the poem on her ill-fated “voyage” across the pond in a leaky rowboat.
What are some of your favorite works of art? I’d love to have a gander!
